Silent Goodbye

I loved you more than words could say,
But still, I watched you walk away.
Not every heart that dares to care,
Can hold a love too wild to bear.

I held your hand through storm and flame,
Yet never asked you to remain.
For love, if caged, begins to fade
So I stepped back, though I had stayed.

They said it’s a phase that time will heal,
But no one knows how it actually feels.
Just let it be, for God’s sake,
The smile I wear, the tears I fake.

I let you go with silent grace,
No tears to stain your lovely face.
My heart still breaks, but you won’t know
I loved you…
But I let you go.
